DELAWARE SPEEDWAY TRIPLE CROWN EVENT FORMAT


EVENT OVERVIEW:

The DELAWARE SPEEDWAY TRIPLE CROWN is a three-race series. The events take place on May 28th, July 23rd, and August 20th Points for the Triple Crown Series are based on Delaware Speedway points for qualifying and the finish of both 25 lap feature races as per the Delaware Speedway rulebook.


DELAWARE SPEEDWAY TRIPLE CROWN POINTS SYSTEM:

Points system for the Triple Crown Events is an accumulation of Delaware Speedway points, as per the Delaware Speedway rule book, applied to the car # based on time trial points and finish at the end of both 25 lap feature races. The Triple Crown Championship will be awarded to the car# based on the highest accumulation of points in all 3 Triple Crown events. .


NASCAR & DELAWARE POINTS:

- NASCAR & Delaware Points are awarded to all NASCAR License Holders in both races.


TIME TRIAL & CONSOLATION RACE:

- Competitors will draw for time trial positions going through tech.

- Two-lap time trial (one lap if they don’t make their spot). Cars must be lined up on pit road 5 minutes before time trials start. Note: Points awarded for time trials as per Delaware Speedway Rule Book.

-Time trials will set the field for the first 25 lap feature, Inversion of lead lap cars will set the field for the 2nd 25 lap feature.

- A full field for the event will be considered 28 cars. The field will be set by time trials.

- If there are over 28 cars in attendance, the top 22 will be locked based on time trials.

- The remainder will run a 10-lap consolation race. The top-5 from that consolation event will transfer in that order to the back of the feature.

- There will be one promoters choice provisional granted.

TIRES

1 tire for both 25 lap races will be allowed First time Delaware attendees will be allowed 6 tires.

FEATURE RACE
-First Feature vehicles will start in the order established after the time trial and /or consolation events, with the promoter’s choice at the rear. (Promoters choice reserved to past Delaware Speedway champions and regular Delaware competitors).

Second Feature will be an inversion of the lead lap cars.

- The event consists of twin 25-lap races.



PAYOUT:

- Event purse is the same as the weekly 25 lap Delaware Speedway payout.



POINTS FUND:

- For all cars that participate in all three DELAWARE SPEEDWAY TRIPLE CROWN events, there will be a guaranteed $5,000 points fund .
